These boxes are beautiful and sturdy. They are advertised in a way that suggests that they are solid wood, but they are made of a white plastic or resin with a durable, paper-thin veneer that looks and performs like wood. When I laser-inscribed a box as an honorary gift, using very low power on the laser, the result with the white material under the surface was gorgeous and dramatic. I could not be happier with the finished product and, honestly, it would not have looked as good had it been solid wood. I will come back to this product every time. Highest recommendation.
