Cornerstone - Jefferson and Westward Nickels 1938-2012 w/o Proofs

Pros:

  • sturdy construction
Cons:
I just bought my fourth one of these albums. I really like the quality, sturdy binding and low price. Best buy for a Jefferson album w/o proofs.

Half of every page is text which is of little interest to me. Without that the same amount of coins would need four pages instead of eight (plus two covers-a very thick album). The plastic window behind the coins does not slide out, so you cannot easily push out a single coin. To compensate, the coins fit loosely in their holes. So when you slide out the plastic in front of the coins they can all fall out. And they roll in their holes when you tilt the book or turn pages. This leaves Jefferson's head turned in all different orientations, not a nice appearance.

So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase. I wanted to make a collection the old time way - from circulation. So I chose this album because it does not include the proofs and it is the longest span of years of those which are available. Its quality is equal to those of the other brand I own (the blue ones) and the price was very reasonable, especially for an album with eight pages. I like the picture on the cover although that was not a factor in my decision. The binding is done differently than my others and I am interested to see how durable it will be.
